Today Was Nuts

I don't curse. A long time ago I made it a rule of mine. But today, I wanted to curse. I wanted to string together all the curse words I've ever learned in both English and Spanish. If I knew how to cuss in other languages, I'd have used those as well.

Today was crazy. Ridiculous. It was the kind of day that I want to be over quickly but the day moves slowly.

I was running late. Very late today. Anyone with a new baby knows the feeling. I get to work and the mad crazy drama starts. None of our copiers are working. Crap. I have a packet that I need copied for a meeting tomorrow.

It takes me forever to print out student scheduled for the meeting. And idiot teachers who can't follow directions spell the kids names wrong or don't include all last names so I can't find the kids in the system and they might miss the meeting. Crap. Stupid people. I very clearly (in bold lettering, repeated a bunch of times on the form) asked for detailed information. Sometimes I think the teachers are dumber than the kids we teach. Crap.

I need to use the computer lab. One teacher has all the days on lock. C'mon. Do you really need four days in a row for ALL of your classes?  How about giving other teachers a chance to use the one computer lab we do have?

It's 1:12pm and I walk up to my students who are all standing in a tight circle. I tell them to move and I see the smallest kid, a sweet adorable boy who is always smiling, on the ground crying. His pants are all screwed up and he is sobbing. What happened? He got pantsed (they gave him a major wedgie. It is not funny like it is in the cartoons. Not Funny At All!) The little boy is crying (sobbing), kids are patting him on the head, and the idiot who did it to him is asking him if he is okay. WTF? Does he LOOK okay???? No. So I had to deal with that.

Add this to the fact that 4 other kids are telling me their teacher fell. What?!? Again??? But she's okay. Good. I would have hated to see her lying on the ground bleeding or unconscious. She just had an incident with a football last week.

What do you mean my copies haven't been made? In fact, where the hell are my originals I sent to the copy room? The forces of evil don't want this meeting to happen. I don't have time to go to Kinko's. Crap.

It's 2:00. I get release time so I can try to finish the teacher memo for tomorrow morning. Two separate printers won't print my document. Crap.

I finally print the teacher lists. I have to leave ASAP for an appointment.

I get home at the appointed time. I need to pump. The idiot doesn't show up for an hour and 15 minutes. Crap.

What. The. Hell?

Today was nuts.

Might not seem like much, but you didn't live it.

I quit. For today.
